Marina One Self Registration Kiosk
Creating tablet interface screens for a visitor registration kiosk and designing a visitor registration webpage for returning guests.
Overview
Background
I was responsible for developing our first-ever visitor self-registration screens, enabling visitors to gain turnstile access to the Marina One Office building through a tablet kiosk. The process was designed so that visitors would initially register with the Concierge, but could use the kiosk for subsequent visits for added convenience. After the launch, we integrated with Singpass for enhanced security and ease of use. Additionally, I designed webpages for visitors to self-register using their own web browsers, allowing them to receive QR codes for turnstile access conveniently. These screens were later adapted and customised for other commercial properties, including 108 Robinson Road and DUO Tower.
Role
I was the sole designer on the team, collaborating with a Project Manager and a group of app, web, and backend developers.
Self-Registration Tablet Kiosk

Self registration screens
To enter the building through the turnstile, repeat visitors must either scan their ID on the scanner or manually enter their information on the first screen. Their contact details will be auto-filled in, with the option to edit them if needed. They can then select from a list of tenants they have previously visited. Finally, they can choose to use either facial recognition or a QR code for turnstile access.

QR code methods
If the QR code for turnstile access is selected, visitors can choose how they would like to receive it. They can opt for a physical printed ticket with the QR code, scan a QR code displayed on the tablet to receive the QR code on their mobile phone, or have the QR code sent to them via email.

QR codes
Here are the templates for the QR codes:
Physical Printed Ticket:
A ticket with a QR code printed on it, which can be presented at the turnstile.
Tablet Display QR Code:
A QR code displayed on the tablet screen, which visitors can scan with their mobile phones to receive a QR code on a webpage.
Email QR Code:
A QR code sent to the visitor via email, which can be used for turnstile access.

Facial Recognition method
If a visitor opts for Facial Recognition to access the turnstile, they can choose either an existing photo previously taken at the concierge or take a new one. Once the photo is confirmed, they can gain access by scanning their face at the facial recognition tablet installed at the turnstile.
Self-Registration Webpages

A more convenient solution
Following the initial launch, we integrated with Singpass to improve security for turnstile access. This enhancement allowed visitors to register conveniently without having to wait at the Concierge or use the kiosk. They could either scan the Singpass QR code using a web browser or tap on the code to launch their Singpass app to log in, and promptly receive an email with the QR code for turnstile access.
